Toyota has Canada's top-rated automotive website and has for the past two years. What makes it so good? Simplicity.
Surf over to toyota.ca and you're greeted with a simple and clean home page asking you to choose between English and French. Click on your language preference and you are whisked quickly to a tidy page with a minimum of clutter. The page has a small handful of tabs that link to special offers at the bottom, while across the top are a few tabs where you'll find information about hybrids, corporate policy ownership issues and the environment. But what makes the site useful for car buyers is a list of vehicle names on the left side of the home page that serve as hyperlinks to every vehicle in Toyota's Canadian lineup.
Click on one and you are sent to a vehicle page with two simple tabs: one for vehicle information, the other a "build and price" tool. The pricing tool is quick, comprehensive and instantly responsive. Toyota also lists special offers and there is a provision to include taxes and fees in the pricing quote. Of course, there is also a way get pre-approval for credit and to book a test drive.
All of this appears in clear and simple terms. Here, you will not find excess or extraneous material that gets in the way of the facts – on pricing, specifications, performance and special offers. An excellent site and a model for others.
