Celestica Inc. says first-quarter profit rose to $30-million (U.S.) as its revenues also moved higher.

The Toronto-based global manufacturer, which produces a variety of products for other companies, said the profit was equal to 14 cents per share.

That compares to profits of $28.5-million a year ago, or 12 cents per share.

Revenue increased to $1.8-billion, in line with analyst expectations and above the $1.52-billion posted a year earlier.
