Watchlist users, we have a new feature that we are excited to share with you: Freeze panes for the "Build Your Own" view.

Many readers in the past have expressed an interest in freezing the ticker and company name columns in the left of the "Build Your Own" view. The problem was that as you scrolled to the right, it was hard to keep track of which row of data you were looking at.

Freeze panes might sound like a simple feature to build, but it was a unique challenge for Watchlist, so we took the time to get it right.

Here's how it works:

Go to the Stocks and ETFs section in your Watchlist and pick the Build Your Own view. You'll find that the first two columns remain constant on your screen as you scroll horizontally to the right.

As always, please let us know what you think. How can we make Watchlist work even better for you? Email us at globeinvestor@globeandmail.com, or leave a comment at the end of this blog post. If you are having any trouble at all with Watchlist, the fastest way to get help is to email globeinvestor@globeandmail.com.
