Watchlist tip #9: How to add commodities to your lists Add to ...

One of the improvments we've made with Watchlist over the old-style Stocklist and old-style Fundlist is that you can look at prices for stocks, funds, indexes, currencies and commodities all in one place.

We have about two dozen commodities to choose from. I expect the most popular will be gold and oil , but we have lots of others including silver and copper .

More related to this story

Here are all the commodities you can add with their symbols:

Cocoa CJ-FT Coffee KT-FT Copper HG-FT Corn ZC-FT Ethanol ZH-FT Gold GC-FT Heating Oil HO-FT Lean hogs HE-FT Light sweet crude oil CL-FT Live cattle LE-FT Lumber LBS-FT Natural Gas NG-FT Palladium PA-FT Platinum PL-FT RBOB Gasoline XRB-FT Rough rice ZR-FT Silver SI-FT Soybeans ZS-FT Sugar YO-FT Uranium XUX-FT Wheat ZW-FT Wood pulp WP-FT

I just copied and pasted them all at once into a new list in my Watchlist that I've called Commodity Prices.

You can do it yourself by copying these tickers and then pasting them into the large orange Add-Items box in Watchlist:

CJ-FT, KT-FT, HG-FT, ZC-FT, ZH-FT, GC-FT, HO-FT, HE-FT, CL-FT, LE-FT, LBS-FT, NG-FT, PA-FT, PL-FT, XRB-FT, ZR-FT, SI-FT, ZS-FT, YO-FT, XUX-FT, ZW-FT, WP-FT

Commodity prices are delayed by 10 minutes. There is a bug in Watchlist that isn't allowing prices to update once you've got Watchlist open. But we expect to have that bug fixed in the very near term.

Hope this is helpful. Suggestions for improvements are always welcome and our technical help people are always ready for questions at globeinvestor@globeandmail.com.
