Apple Inc. briefly lost its title as the world's most valuable company on Thursday.

The tech giant spent the day trading the No. 1 spot with Google parent Alphabet Inc. By the close, Apple had pulled back into the top position with a market capitalization of $494.8-billion (U.S.), about $400-million greater than Alphabet, according to Bloomberg data.

Back in February, Alphabet briefly nabbed the top spot from Apple.

The Cupertino, Calif. company's share price has been tumbling for some time amid weaker iPhone demand.
