Bombardier flying second to Embraer Add to ...

Bombardier shares are meeting headwinds after Forecast International predicts that Brazil's Embraer should take the lion's share of orders for regional jets in the next 10 years. It tells Dow Jones that Embraer should produce 1,268 regional jets between 2007 and 2016 for a 33.4 per cent market share, with Bombardier building 1,067 regional aircraft - jets and turboprops - for 28.1 per cent share. No. 3 ATR of France is forecast to make 395 turboprops for a 10.1 per cent market share. The Forecast International study also suggests that turboprops continue to see a "resurgence in demand, and like jets, buyers are looking for larger models." Both ATR and Bombardier are mulling 90-seat turboprops, it adds. At 1:25 p.m. on Monday, Bombardier slipped 7 cents to $6.05.
