If you were worried about the valuation of networking site LinkedIn Corp. when its initial public offering valued the company at $45 (U.S.) a share or $4.25-billion, this might hurt: The shares surged as much as 85 per cent when they began trading on Thursday morning in New York.

We'll have more on this later. For now, though, admire the fireworks.
