The following is a daily rundown of the economic reports and corporate earnings that will be grabbing the market's attention in the week ahead
MONDAY, July 7
Germany's industrial production will be released.
(830 a.m. ET) Canada releases building permits for May, forecast by BMO Economists to rise 3.0 per cent after a 1.1 per cent gain in April.
(10:30 a.m. ET) Bank of Canada's business outlook survey and senior loan office survey for Q2 is released.
TUESDAY, July 8
U.K.'s industrial and manufacturing production for May will be released.
Earnings include: Alcoa.
WEDNESDAY, July 9
China will release its CPI and PPI data for June. CPI is expected to rise 2.4 per cent year-over-year and PPI is expected to decrease 1 per cent year-over-year.
China's trade surplus data tentatively scheduled to be released.
Bank of England starts two-day monetary policy meeting.
(8:15 a.m. ET) Canada housing starts for June will be released, with the consensus expecting 190,000 annualized, down from May's 198,300.
(2:00 p.m. ET) FOMC's minutes from its June 17-18 meeting will be released.
Earnings include: Dragonwave, Texas Industries.
THURSDAY, July 10
France will release it consumer price index for June, expected to be unchanged from May with a 2 per cent increase.
(8:30 a.m. ET) Canada's new housing price index for May will be released, which is expected to rise 1.6 per cent from a year earlier.
(830 a.m ET) U.S. releases jobless claims for the week of June 28; consensus expects initial claims to hold steady at 315,000.
(10 a.m. ET) U.S. releases wholesale inventories for May, expected to rise 0.6 per cent.
Earnings include: Family Dollar Stores, PriceSmart.
FRIDAY, July 11
Germany's consumer price index will be released.
(8:30 a.m. ET) Canada employment data will be released for June. Consensus expects an additional 26,000 new jobs while the unemployment rate is expected to remain unchanged at 7 per cent.
(2:00 p.m. ET) U.S. budget deficit data to be released, expected to be $79-billion.
