Monday Aug. 11

China releases CPI and PPI data for July.

(8.15 a.m. ET) Canada releases housing starts for July, with consensus at 193,000, down 1.7 per cent from June.

Earnings include: Aecon Group, Copper Mountain Mining, American Midstream Partners, Aramark, Black Diamond, Caesar's Entertainment, Dean Foods, Motorcar Parts of America, New Source Energy, Priceline Group, Sysco, Stoneridge

Tuesday Aug. 12

Italy releases CPI data for July.

Russia releases real GDP for Q2, expected to be up 7 per cent year-over-year.

(7:30 a.m. ET) U.S. releases its NFIB small business economic trends survey.

(10 a.m. ET) U.S. releases its job openings and labor turnover survey for June.

(2 p.m. ET) U.S. releases its budget deficit for July, with consensus expecting $98-billion (U.S.), up from July 2013's $97.6-billion.

Earnings include: Rona, SunOpta, Bob Evans Farms, Fossil Group, Kate Spade, Synacor, ViaSat

Wednesday Aug. 13

Japan releases real GDP for Q2, expected to be down 1.8 per cent and up 0.3 per cent year-over-year.

Germany releases its CPI index for July, expected to be up 0.3 per cent.

France releases its CPI index for July, expected to be down 0.4 per cent.

U.K. releases its jobless rate for July, expected to to be down to 6.4 per cent. from May's 6.5 per cent.

Bank of England releases its quarterly inflation report.

China releases industrial production for July, expected to be unchanged from May at a 9.2 per cent increase. 

(8:30 a.m. ET) U.S. releases its retail sales data for July. Consensus is for a 0.3 per cent increase.

Earnings include: Aimia, Metro, CAE, Cervus Equipment, Great Canadian Gaming, Onex, Abercrombie & Fitch, Canadian Solar, IAMGOLD, Macy’s, Markit, Pan American Silver, Pinnacle Foods, RE/MAX, Renren, SeaWorld Entertain, Silver Wheaton

Thursday Aug. 14

Euro Area releases real GDP for Q2, expected to be up 0.1 per cent and 0.7 per cent year-over-year.

Euro Area releases its CPI index for July, expected to be down 0.6 per cent from June and up 0.4 per cent year-over-year.

(8:30 a.m ET) Canada releases its new house pricing index, expected to be unchanged.

Earnings include: Algonquin Power, Advance Auto Parts, Aeroflex, Bally Tech, Cypress Energy, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, JC Penny, Kohl’s, Nordstrom, Perrigo, SFX Entertainment, Sina, Tekmira, Wal-Mart, Weibo

Friday Aug. 15

U.S. releases its rela GDP for Q2, expected to be up 0.8 per cent and up 3.1 per cent year-over-year.

(8:30 a.m. ET) Canada releases manufacturing sales for June, with consensus expecting it to be up 0.8 per cent.

(9 a.m ET) Canada releases existing home sales data for July, expected to be down from June at 7.5 per cent increase year-over-year.

(9 a.m. ET) Canada releases MLS home price index, expected to be up 5.6 per cent year-over-year.

(9:15 a.m. ET) U.S. releases industrial production data for July.

Earnings include: Whistler Blackcomb
