Q&A: Ron Meisels on why this year will bring a Santa Claus rally Add to ...

Ron Meisels, president of Phases & Cycles Inc., joined Inside the Market for our weekly live web chat Tuesday at 1 p.m. (ET). Mr. Meisels is one of North America's top technical analysts, with a strong record of successfully predicting where stocks and markets are heading using chart analysis.

Right now, he believes markets have just concluded a cyclical bottom and are poised for a Christmas rally that will last well into next year.

An analyst since 1971, Mr. Meisels was formerly vice-president and director of technical resarch for Nesbitt Thomson, now BMO Nesbitt Burns. He was ranked among the top three technical analysts by Canadian Institutions for six consecutive years (Brendan Wood Survey).

Mr. Meisels is also founder and first president of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts and past director of the International Federation of Technical Analysts. He created the "Meisels Index," an overbought/oversold indicator based on daily closings.
