Q&A: Award-winning analyst reveals some gems in financial services Add to ...

For this week's live discussion at Inside the Market, we were joined by Shubha Khan, analyst with National Bank Financial, for insight into small and mid-cap Canadian financial stocks.

StarMine recently named Mr. Khan as the No. 1 stock picker for the Canadian financials sector in 2012.

He doesn't cover many of the big caps that are widely traded - but rather small and mid cap financials that are off the radar screen for many investors - including regional banks, asset managers, TMX Group, casualty insurers and specialty lenders.

Mr. Khan has been a member of National Bank Financial's financial services team since early 2009. Prior to joining the bank, Mr. Khan was a research analyst at a global investment bank in Toronto. He holds a BSc (Honours) in economics from the London School of Economics and an MA in economics from McGill University in Montreal.
