Paladin Labs Inc. , a Canadian diversified specialty pharmaceutical company, said that it has extended the expiry of its offer for any and all of the outstanding common shares of Afexa Life Sciences Inc. until 8:00 p.m. (Toronto time) on September 28, 2011. The company said the extension allows the offer to remain open until after the Alberta Securities Commission hearing into the company's application to cease trade Afexa's 2 shareholder rights plans. Afexa was trading near a year high 75 cents.

Premium Brands Holding Corp. announced Thursday a cash dividend of $0.294 per share for the quarter ending September 30, 2011. The company said the dividend will be made to shareholders of record at the close of business on September 30, 2011 and will be payable on October 17, 2011.



Gluskin Sheff + Associates Inc. , a wealth management firm serving high net worth private clients and institutional investors, will issue its financial results for the fourth quarter ended June 30, 2011, this afternoon.



REBgold Corporation , which closed Wednesday close to a year low 5 cents, reported Thursday results from the remaining 1270 meters of drilling on the 53 hole, 6073 meters program of resource delineation drilling at the Rantasalmi gold property. The company said new high-grade gold lode was discovered at surface with BELOSI077 intersecting 15.65m at 9.96 g/t gold 48m east of the discovery hole BELOSI044 which intersected 14.18m at 9.14 g/t Au.







Alexco Resource Corp. was down by 5 per cent early Thursday despite reporting that for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2011, it had net earnings of $3.5 million or $0.06 per share, erasing a year-ago loss of $5.2 million. The improvement was on a big jump in revenues during the year to $45.1 million from $4.6 million. Cash flows from operating activities were $10.7 million, the company also said.







D-Box Technologies announced Thursday its first agreement with New York-based Dipson Theatres, Inc. to equip its Flix Theatre in Lancaster, N.Y. with 21 D-BOX MFX Seats. The motion technology company said Dipson Theatres is the first location in Western New York to offer D-BOX motion technology, the second in the state, which provides a completely immersive moviegoing experience.





Rockland Minerals announced widespread gold values in surface grab samples from iron-stained outcrops at the Rusty Acres zone on the Schefferville Gold Project, Quebec. The company said a lone grab sample from one of the mineralized areas at Rusty Acres returned a gold assay value higher than anything previously reported in the literature and confirms the attractiveness of this target area.







Brazil Resources announced the acquisition of the 24,678 acre Maua Project in the emerging Gurupi Gold Belt located in Maranhao State, Brazil. The company said this is its third acquisition in the Gurupi Gold Belt, which increases the total land package here to 53,263 acres.







Sutter Gold Mining fell by as much as 10 per cent as it announced that Dr. Leanne M. Baker will join the company as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective November 1, 2011. The company said "Dr. Baker's ability to fuel Sutter's growth through the successful management of the assets should make current day California mining history."
