The Brick , which yesterday closed slightly lower after hitting a new year high of $3.70 earlier in the day, reported fourth-quarter income before income taxes of $16.9-million, a decrease of $0.4-million or 2.4 per cent over the 2010 fourth-quarter results. Including the impacts from changes in warrant fair value and impairment charge reversal for 2010, 2011 fourth quarter consolidated net income of $13.2-million was lower by $1.0-million or 6.9 per cent when compared to the same quarter of 2010.

Nevsun Resources Ltd. , with an existing year low $3.19, will release its 2011 results on Wednesday March 21 after close of trading with a conference call following on Thursday March 22.



AbitibiBowater Inc., doing business as Resolute Forest Products announced: it has extended the expiry time for its offer to acquire all of the issued and outstanding common shares of Fibrek Inc. to 5pm ET on April 2. It has amended the minimum tender condition to its offer by lowering the threshold from 66.66 per cent to 50.01 per cent of Fibrek shares outstanding on a fully diluted basis.



TriOil Resources Ltd. , which lost 7 per cent yesterday, overnight provided an update on its light oil operations at Kaybob and Lochend.



Yukon-Nevada Gold Corp. said it had achieved "significant" surface drilling results from open pit targets at its wholly-owned Jerritt Canyon gold operation in Nevada, USA.



Brampton Brick reported a loss of around $10-million or $0.91 per Class A Subordinate Voting share and Class B Multiple Voting Share for the year ended Dec. 31, 2011 compared to a loss of $2.5-million, or $0.24 per share, in 2010.





Paladin Labs Inc. announced today that Health Canada has approved Oralair, a sublingual grass pollen immunotherapy tablet for the treatment of the symptoms of moderate to severe seasonal grass pollen allergic rhinitis. Mark Beaudet, interim President and CEO of Paladin Labs, said: "We anticipate launching Oralair in time for the 2013 allergy season and are confident that, when launched, Oralair will provide Canadian allergy sufferers with a safe, effective and convenient alternative for the treatment of seasonal grass allergies."





Caribou King Resources Ltd. today announced that it has acquired seven contiguous unpatented block prospective mining claims in the gold-prolific Timmins Mining District. The company agrees to pay $20,000 and provide 750,000 shares on signing, with a $100,000 work commitment in year one of the agreement.





Scorpio Gold Corporation , which was just 9 cents below year highs yesterday, announced today the final results of the 2011 drilling program on the Mary Zone. Peter J. Hawley, President and CEO reports, "The 2011 drilling program has successfully defined the extent of mineralization for the final pit design over the Mary Zone. In addition, drill results have increased the overall width of the zone and confirmed that gold mineralization extends southwest from the Mary Zone to the adjacent Mary LC Zone, encompassing a strike length of 780 metres."





Antioquia Gold Inc. said it plans to use key results from its 2011 exploration program to benefit the next phase of advanced exploration at its flagship Cisneros Project, moving the company forward in 2012. Assuming positive results by the end of 2012, Antioquia hopes to be in a position to decide whether to proceed with a production scenario, with gold production anticipated in 2014.
