Research Capital lands Kym Anthony

Globe and Mail Blog Post

Research Capital added experience to its executive ranks by luring Kym Anthony aboard as a vice-chairman.

The employee-owned firm, helmed by long-tem president Patrick Walsh, hired a veteran deal-maker and manager who has worked at a number of houses. Mr. Anthony was most recently CEO at Dundee Securities, ran National Bank Financial prior to that gig, and spent the early part of his career at what's now known as CIBC World Markets.

Research Capital has been recruiting aggressively of late, picking up a number of Desjardins Securities veterans on its equity desk.

Mr. Anthony's arrival was first reported on the Bill's Buzz blog run by executive search firm Vlaad and Co.

The blog also noted that “Benoit Fredette has ran away to join the circus. He is now with Cirque du Soleil as a financial analyst – capital projects and corporate finance; previously Benoit was an analyst in the Montreal investment banking team of BMO Capital Markets.”
