Grande Cache Coal Corp has given up some of the gains made yesterday when Japanese trading house Marubeni Corp and China's Winsway Coking Coal Holdings Ltd. agreed to acquire the Calgary-based coal producer for $1 billion. The $10-a-share offer was more than double Grande Cache's 20-day average and three times higher than the premium paid by Alpha Natural Resources Inc. , which plunged 58 per cent after agreeing to buy Massey Energy Co. in this year's biggest coal deal, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.







Newalta will issue its results for the third quarter of 2011 on Tuesday, November 1, 2011 after the market closes today. Newalta said it provides cost-effective solutions to industrial customers to improve their environmental performance with a focus on recycling and recovery of products from industrial residues.







Corazon Gold Corp. announced today the discovery of a new high-grade mineralized structure, referred to as the Portillo vein, in the latest holes of its Phase One drilling program at the Santo Domingo gold property in Nicaragua. The company said it has completed a total of 34 diamond drill holes (5,603 meters) and will begin Phase Two drilling in mid-November, 2011.

Timmins Gold Corp. announced that significant mineralization continues to be intersected in its ongoing July-December, 2011 drill program at the San Francisco Mine. The company said drilling has confirmed the continuity and extensions of the mineralization, both along strike and down dip and below the existing pit floor at both the San Francisco and La Chicharra open pits.

The company said revenues were $1.9 million, down 5.6 per cent from Q3, 2010 revenues of $2 million. Net losses for the quarter were also down $92,954 from $115,746. Year to date, the net loss was $1.9 million or $0.23 per share compared to $399,615 or $0.06 per share in 2010.



NMC Resource Corporation announced today an updated mineral resource estimate for the NMC Moland Mine in South Korea. Total indicated mineral resources are 1.669 million tonnes grading 0.35 per cent MoS2 and the inferred mineral resources are approximately 2.094 million tonnes grading 0.32 per cent MoS2, which reflects a considerable increase in tonnage compared to the previous October 2009 mineral resource estimate.



Highway traffic management technology company International Road Dynamics Inc. , which has been trading near a year low of 25.5 cents, announced today that it has been awarded a contract valued at approximately $1 million by Kevco Electric, Inc. for Virtual Weigh Station upgrades to existing Weigh-In-Motion Data Collection Systems in the State of New Jersey. The company said the contract includes a 3 year full materials, labor, and installation warranty for all work performed under this agreement.
