A home in Gatineau, Que.

David Smith, a Globe and Mail reader, recently sold his home in Gatineau, Que., for more than twice what he bought it for 13 years ago. The 4,000-square-foot property, which backs onto a protected forest, sold for $320,000 this year. In 1999, Mr. Smith paid $144,000.

For the past few weeks, the Globe has been taking an in-depth look at the Canadian housing market, including changes to borrowing rules, problems with how we appraise real estate and the current housing price correction.

Now we want to hear from you. We're examining how Canadian real estate prices have increased over time, and we want to feature your stories and photos.

If you have recently sold your long-held Canadian property, you're exactly who we're looking for. Send a high-quality, horizontal jpeg photo of your home to businesscommunity@globeandmail.com, and fill out the form below.
