Fixed income: The beginning of the end?

Globe and Mail Update

Everybody loves bonds, right? This has been the Year of the Corporate Bond, as far as issuers are concerned, and we've been hearing cries of "bond bubble" (and the opposite) for months now.

And now, fixed income exchange-traded funds are suddenly the most oversold asset class of all, according to Bespoke Investment Group's Think B.I.G. blog. They track more than 200 ETFs -- take a look at their infographic to see the top 30 most oversold.

"In recent months, you would have been hard pressed to find a fixed income ETF on the oversold list, but the recent jump in rates has nearly all of them in oversold territory at the moment," the group says.

"Is it time to get back into fixed income now that the asset class has sold off, or is the bond market party finally over?"
