Softchoice Announces Plan to Migrate 25% of Customers to Electronic Invoicing in 201015:30 EDT Wednesday, April 07, 2010TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 7, 2010) - Softchoice Corporation (TSX:SO), a leading North American provider of technology solutions and services, today announced the availability of electronic invoicing to its North American customers. With a simple sign-up process through PayItGreen, customers can easily switch from paper to 'eInvoicing' and reap the benefits immediately. Offering the option to receive bills electronically is part of the Company's larger strategy to promote sustainable practices across its operations."We're proud to provide the choice of paperless invoicing," said David MacDonald, President and CEO of Softchoice. "With each new initiative, we're greening our organization while providing more efficient processes for the customers we serve."Since each invoice is approximately two pages - plus the envelope, and the energy used to print and deliver it - a single bill has a significant environmental footprint. Now consider that in light of the 350,000 invoices Softchoice issues annually. To reduce this impact Softchoice has also announced a sign-up campaign to migrate 25 percent of its customers to paperless invoicing by the end of 2010.Saving trees and fossil fuels aren't the only benefits of choosing paperless invoicing. Efficiency gains are also considerable. Customers will receive their invoices more quickly and since they are issued electronically, the records management process is greatly simplified while chances of invoices getting lost in the shuffle are substantially reduced."Some of the best ways to reduce the environmental impact of business are both easy and cost-effective," said Melissa Alvares, Sustainability Programs Manager for Softchoice. "The number of customers who are already taking advantage of this opportunity also underscores the point that more often than not, sustainable practices are just as beneficial for business productivity as they are for the planet."About PayItGreenPayItGreen is a partnership between financial institutions, related financial industry service providers, and businesses of all sizes.
