Colossus Minerals Inc. Announces Socio-Economic Agreement With the Municipality of Curionopolis14:37 EDT Thursday, May 13, 2010TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 13, 2010) - Colossus Minerals Inc. (TSX:CSI)("Colossus" or "the Company") is pleased to announce that the Company has reached an agreement ("the Agreement") with the Municipality of Curionopolis ("Curionopolis"), Para State, Brazil, to provide funding for health, education, urban planning and infrastructure development. The Agreement satisfies certain conditions set out in the Preliminary Environmental License for the Serra Pelada Project. Details of the Agreement with Curionopolis are as follows:A total of $8.9 million Reais (approximately US$5.0 million) to be paid in installments at certain dates being: 25% or $2.2 million Reais (US$1.3 million) at signing of this Agreement 20% or $1.8 million Reais (US$1.0 million) at start of mine development 30% or $2.7 million Reais (US$1.5 million) January 2011 25% or $2.2 million Reais (US$1.2 million) January 2012 The funding will be used for health, education, urban planning and infrastructure development in the communities of Curionopolis and Serra Pelada according to the schedule of priorities defined by the Municipality of Curionopolis. This is intended to prepare the region for and to mitigate the impact of the development of the Serra Pelada project.
