Centex Helps Homebuyers Navigate the Path to Homeownership15:29 EDT Wednesday, September 29, 2010 BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. (Business Wire) -- To equip first-time homebuyers with the information and tools to better navigate the homebuying experience, Centex will host its first ever national webinars next month in its ongoing efforts to educate first-time homebuyers and bring them one step closer to the dream of homeownership. Themed “Open the Door to Homeownership: A Free Webinar Series Featuring Ilyce Glink,” the online video webinars will feature two different session topics. On Wednesday, October 6 at 7 p.m. CDT, “Rent vs. Buy” will discuss the benefits of homeownership. Participants will obtain information to find out if they are ready to purchase a home. And, if they are, they will learn why today is the perfect time to buy a home. In the second webinar, “New vs. Resale” will be the topic on Wednesday, October 27 at 7 p.m. CDT. In this session, participants will learn why short sales and foreclosures may not be the deal they appear. Additionally, Ms. Glink will discuss how homebuyers can take advantage of historically low interest rates, incentives and pricing from new homebuilders, and excellent community locations with the just the right house and amenities to fit their families' needs. “There are many important decisions to make during the home shopping and home buying process, and for first-time homebuyers it can often be difficult to navigate. Through these webinars, Centex is empowering its homebuyers to make better choices and providing them a solid foundation that gives them a level of comfort and confidence as they take the step into homeownership,” said Deborah Wahl Meyer, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Centex. Meyer also added that the session topics are very relevant in today's housing market. “Owning a home can still be one of the best financial investment opportunities, even in this economic environment. Given her popularity and professional credibility, homebuyers will find that Ilyce's advice is very valuable in becoming a smarter homebuyer,” said Meyer. Personal finance and real estate expert Ilyce Glink is the author of 10 books, including the best-selling 100 Questions Every First-Time Home Buyer Should Ask, and writes a nationally syndicated column, “Real Estate Matters,” which appears in more than 125 newspapers and web sites. She also has an online “Ask Ilyce” column, which is read by hundreds of thousands of people every month. The webinars feature a 20-minute presentation from Ms. Glink, followed by live questions taken from the attendees. For more information or to register for the webinars, visit www.centex.com.
