MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 1, 2010) -

The Missing Children's Network, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Surete du Quebec, the Montreal Police Service, as well as municipal police agencies, government agencies, local community organizations and The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc., will all team-up in order to ensure the safety of our children and host a Child Identification Day in over 180 participating Jean Coutu stores in Quebec.

On October 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., an identification booklet that includes a digital photograph of the child, as well as his fingerprints will be given to parents free of charge. Families will also receive practical safety advice from the police officers on-site.

Because children grow and develop quickly, it is important to update this booklet at least once a year. In order for the booklet to be effective in the event a child is reported missing, it must always contain a recent photograph and complete physical description of the child, as well as a list of people to contact in case of an emergency.
