Acme Packet Enhances Partner Program to Focus on Federal Government Resellers08:30 EST Monday, November 29, 2010 BEDFORD, Mass. (Business Wire) -- Acme Packet® (NASDAQ: APKT), the leader in session border control solutions, today announced a new federal specialization for its Pinnacle Partner program, intended for systems integrators, resellers and service providers serving the government market. The new federal specialization is designed specifically to assist resellers who supply Acme Packet's industry-leading session border controller (SBC) technology to a wide range of federal agencies. As part of today's announcement, Acme Packet also identified a group of Pinnacle Partner program government specialization charter members including Avaya Government Solutions, Black Box Network Services, General Dynamics, Lyme Computer Systems and Technica Corporation. Each of these partners plays a critical role in the delivery of IP communications solutions to federal government installations worldwide. The Pinnacle Partner program is a partner alliance program for technology vendors, resellers and integration and professional services partners working with Acme Packet. The program acts as a vehicle to foster technical and business collaboration, provide partner education and sales tools, and assure interoperability among best-of breed products. Benefits to members of the program include access to best-in-class SBC products, technical support, online training and joint marketing opportunities. As the first and only SBCs certified by the U.S. Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) for information assurance and interoperability with the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) networks, Acme Packet SBCs are uniquely suited to federal government deployments. Having achieved this certification, Acme Packet SBC products are now listed on the DoD's Unified Capabilities Approved Product List (APL), indicating they have met DOD's enterprise security requirements for connecting to its networks. The Acme Packet SBC products are classified as Edge Boundary Controllers (EBC) in compliance with DOD's Unified Communications 2008 Requirements. “Working with the charter federal specialization Pinnacle Partners announced today will greatly enhance our ability to enable the rollout of IP communications solutions for federal installations worldwide,” said Mark Vella, vice president of business development, Acme Packet. “Acme Packet is committed to addressing the needs of the government sector and with the partners announced today we go to market with a compelling value proposition for a wide range of federal organizations.” About Acme Packet Acme Packet, Inc.
