Tetra Tech Awarded $119 Million USAID Afghanistan Kabul City Initiative Project09:00 EST Tuesday, November 30, 2010 PASADENA, Calif. (Business Wire) -- Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) announced today that it has been awarded a contract to manage the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Afghanistan Kabul City Initiative (KCI). This project will help the Kabul municipal government improve its delivery of critical public services to address the needs of its citizens. The $119 million effort has one base year and two option years. The USAID KCI project will help city officials improve services to Kabul citizens in key areas including sanitation, solid waste, streets, and parks. The project also promotes the understanding of the responsibilities of municipal leaders and encourages citizens to participate in the decision-making process. Tetra Tech will manage rapid response efforts to improve the delivery of municipal services; provide technical support and training; and offer capacity-building assistance to help the Kabul government.
