HSBC Global Asset Management Appoints Christian Deseglise Head of North America Wholesale Distribution14:09 EST Wednesday, December 08, 2010 NEW YORK (Business Wire) -- HSBC Global Asset Management today announced that Christian Deseglise has rejoined HSBC as Regional Head of Wholesale for Global Asset Management, North America. He brings extensive experience in the asset management business including expertise in third party distribution of emerging markets and Latin American funds globally. Together with Gary Gordon, Head of Institutional Business Development for North America, he will be responsible for developing and distributing the product offering of HSBC Global Asset Management in North America. Based in New York City, Deseglise will report locally to Sylvia Coutinho, CEO Global Asset Management, Americas and functionally to Sri Chandrasekharan, Global Head of Wholesale. “Christian's strong emerging markets credentials will support our goal of establishing HSBC Global Asset Management as a leading emerging markets player in the North American market,” said Sylvia Coutinho, CEO Global Asset Management, Americas. Deseglise joins HSBC from BTG Pactual where he was a partner in charge of business development for asset management. Prior to that, he was Global Head of Emerging Markets Business at HSBC Global Asset Management, where he was instrumental in developing HSBC's capabilities in emerging markets. Before 2004, Deseglise worked in capital markets, debt advisory and asset management for emerging markets, starting his HSBC career in Paris in 1990. Deseglise is also an Adjunct Professor teaching “Investing in Emerging Markets” at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs.
