Lorillard, Inc. Announces 16 Percent Increase in Quarterly Dividend12:25 EST Thursday, February 17, 2011GREENSBORO, N.C., Feb. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Lorillard, Inc. (NYSE: LO), the third largest manufacturer of cigarettes in the United States, announced today that its Board of Directors approved a 16% increase in the quarterly dividend on its common stock from $1.125 per share to $1.30 per share.  The dividend is payable on March 11, 2011 to stockholders of record as of March 1, 2011.  This marks the second increase in the Company's dividend rate in the past six months and the third dividend increase since Lorillard became an independent publicly traded company in June 2008.  "Based on the strength of our financial performance, we are very pleased to take this noteworthy step of again increasing our dividend, which in aggregate has resulted in a 30 percent increase in our quarterly dividend rate over the last six months," stated David H. Taylor, Lorillard Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer.  "This action underscores our confidence in Lorillard's business model and our commitment of returning cash to our shareholders as evidenced by our targeted dividend payout ratio of 70-75 percent of earnings as well as our ongoing $1 billion share repurchase program."About Lorillard, Inc.Lorillard, Inc.
