The TJX Companies, Inc. Reports February 2011 Sales; Strong Year-over-Year Gains Continue08:36 EST Thursday, March 03, 2011 FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (Business Wire) -- The TJX Companies, Inc. (NYSE: TJX) today reported February 2011 sales results. Sales for the four-week period ended February 26, 2011, were $1.5 billion, up 3% over the $1.4 billion achieved during the four-week period ended February 27, 2010. Consolidated comparable store sales for the four-week period ended February 26, 2011 increased 3% over a 10% increase in the same period last year. Carol Meyrowitz, Chief Executive Officer of The TJX Companies, Inc., stated, “We saw a continuation of strong year-over-year sales gains in the month of February. On a consolidated basis and at The Marmaxx Group, comparable store sales increased 3%, both on top of double-digit increases last year. Further, we continue to see increases in customer traffic, signaling to us that great value remains a top priority for consumers.
