Parkland Fuel Corporation Appoints New President17:00 EDT Tuesday, March 15, 2011RED DEER, AB, March 15 /CNW/ - Parkland Fuel Corporation ("Parkland" or the "Corporation") (TSX: PKI), Canada's largest independent fuel distributer and marketer, today announced the appointment of Bob Espey to President of Parkland. Bob Espey will continue in the role of Chief Operating Officer, and Mike Chorlton will continue in the role of Chief Executive Officer, until May 1, 2011 when he will step down as CEO.On May 1st, as was agreed to at the time of his appointment to President and CEO in 2005, Mr. Chorlton will also relinquish his seat on the Board of Directors."This appointment is a part of the orderly transition of Parkland's leadership that is currently underway," said Jim Pantelidis, Chairman of the Board of Directors. "Following the announcement in December that Mr. Chorlton would be stepping down as CEO on May 1st, Parkland's senior leadership team and Board of Directors began executing a transition process to ensure the smooth handoff of responsibilities to Mr. Espey.  This process is on track and the board is confident that Mr. Espey will be effective in executing Parkland's continued strategy to grow through acquisitions, to differentiate the corporation through customer service excellence and to deliver superior investor returns through operational efficiency."Mr. Espey joined Parkland Income Fund in November 2008 as Vice President Retail Markets and was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2010.Prior to joining Parkland, Mr. Espey spent three years with FisherCast Global where he was the executive in charge of worldwide sales and marketing, and was ultimately promoted to Chief Executive Officer.  Prior to that, Mr. Espey was Vice President of Algonquin Automotive, a tier one automotive supplier to all of the major automotive manufacturers where he led the reengineering of key supply chains to significantly reduce costs, and led a joint venture startup in nano-technology for the firm.Mr. Espey spent a total of six years in London, England, primarily with Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), in the strategy and change management practice.
