PulteGroup Opening Four New Communities in Key San Diego Markets

PulteGroup Opening Four New Communities in Key San Diego Markets18:53 EDT Thursday, March 31, 2011 SAN DIEGO (Business Wire) -- PulteGroup is taking advantage of the rebound and demand for new homes in key San Diego market locations with the opening of four distinct community neighborhoods in April. The homebuilder sought these in-demand locations, some of which are the last properties available in highly successful master planned communities. “Our goal has been to identify and acquire the best of the handful of premium finished lot opportunities available in San Diego County,” said Chris Haines, president of the company's Southern California Division. He said the Division is focusing on balancing its new home offerings between the Inland Empire and the Coastal markets in Southern California. “The opening of these four neighborhoods comes within months of the properties being acquired. We're excited about offering a variety of new home plans with exceptional designs that allow families to customize rooms for the way they live.” The Company is capitalizing on its success with the Centex brand for first-time homebuyers with the opening of Arbor Ranch in San Marcos on April 2. According to MetroStudy data, PulteGroup's Southern California Division increased its market share and jumped in ranking to the third largest builder in the area in 2010. The key driver of the increase was the acquisition of the Centex brand that allowed the builder to open new communities distinguishing it from the competition, Haines said. In addition to the 57 available new homes at Arbor Ranch, the company is opening three Pulte Homes communities in April. On April 9, the Pines and Willows by Pulte Homes open in 4S Ranch Master Planned Community near Rancho Bernardo. The two separate neighborhoods, totaling 131 new homes, were among the last properties available in the highly successful community. On April 16, Pulte Homes is opening Amberly in the La Costa Oaks master plan in Carlsbad. Pulte Homes had seen success in the master plan in 2004 to 2009, building 250 new homes there during that time. Now Pulte Homes will introduce 83 more new home sites with one of the last opportunities to build new homes in the sought-after La Costa/Encinitas market. Haines said Pulte Homes communities such as Amberly, the Pines and Willows are perfectly positioned to meet the “rebound and demand” for move-up buyers in key areas within San Diego County that offer a diversified economy with biomedical, technology and military industries. “We've been watching this market and waiting for the right time to get back in,” Haines said. “Our comprehensive knowledge of this area helped set us apart as a builder that will perform well in building innovative, thoughtfully planned home designs with features like large eating areas and the flexibility of having up to six bedrooms.” Community Detail:Arbor Ranch by Centex – Arbor Ranch features three neighborhood parks and new homes starting in the $350s that range in size from 1,826 to 2,649 square feet. The community's three home plans offer exceptional exterior elevations and interior standard features such as kitchen and bath granite countertops, raised panel maple cabinetry, tile in key areas throughout the home and paver driveways. The three fully-furnished model homes also feature three and four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The Pines by Pulte Homes at 4S Ranch – The Pines features three home plans ranging in size from 2,679 to 3,262 square feet with up to six bedrooms starting in the high $680s. The new home plans in the community were thoughtfully designed in response to consumer feedback and offer enhanced entries, large eating areas with fewer formal spaces, and family-oriented “work areas” that allow buyers to customize their new home the way they live. The Willows by Pulte Homes at 4S Ranch – The Willows features three home plans ranging in size from 3,353 to 3,986 square feet with up to six bedrooms starting in the $740s. Like the Pines, the Willows homes were designed for the way homeowners live – offering flexibility for every family.
