(TSX:GXI), the leading global airline provider of onboard store technology to the airline industry, has announced that Stuart McGuire will join the company as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. Mr. McGuire is the Founder and Managing Director of Scorpio Distributors Ltd., a global duty free distributor that operates with more than 180 airlines and most major duty free shopping groups, and brings to GuestLogix an extensive portfolio of airline, airport and travel retail relationships."The appointment of Stuart McGuire is an important strategic step for our company," said Mr. Tom Douramakos, Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and CEO, GuestLogix. After being sold in the 1980s to the Ronson Group, Stuart went on to start his own travel retail business, Scorpio Distributors, Ltd., which sold exclusive lines of luxury watches and fashion accessories to the global inflight retail market. In 2007, the global duty free retailer Gebr Heinemann acquired a 51 percent ownership position in the company Mr. McGuire founded, enabling Scorpio to further its expansion in the travel retail market and become one of the leading travel retail specialists worldwide.
