Aruba Networks Makes Great Strides in Wireless LAN Market Share08:00 EDT Tuesday, May 24, 2011 SUNNYVALE, Calif. (Business Wire) -- Aruba Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:ARUN) today announced that its market share in the Enterprise WLAN space had sequentially increased to 15.9 percent according to a report issued by Dell'Oro Research on Friday, May 20. The market share increase includes sales by Aruba and Aruba's partners. This result marks an acceleration of Aruba's market share gains, primarily at the expense of Cisco. The WLAN market has been extremely dynamic of late, with strong growth triggered by 802.11n migrations, the move toward more pervasive deployments and the new Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) phenomenon, where a sharply rising percentage of workers bring their tablets and smartphones into the workplace. Illustrating the healthy Enterprise WLAN growth, as well as Aruba's strong competitive posture, the market grew 22 percent from CYQ1 2010 to CYQ1 2011, while Aruba's revenue grew 52.5 percent in the same period, according to Dell'Oro. The company's share also grew sequentially from 15.5 percent to 20.8 percent of the 802.11n dependent access point (APs) category according to Dell'Oro. Aruba reported that more than 90 percent of AP shipments in its most recently completed fiscal quarter were 802.11n. “We are very pleased with our market share gains in this period,” said Hitesh Sheth, chief operating officer for Aruba. “This is further demonstration that our MOVE architecture and associated solutions resonates with our customers as they migrate from a wired centric to a mobility centric network infrastructure.” About Aruba Networks, Inc.
