SunTrust Names Ken Carrig Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer10:29 EDT Wednesday, June 01, 2011ATLANTA, June 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- SunTrust Banks, Inc. (NYSE: STI) today announced that Kenneth J. Carrig has joined the Company as Corporate Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer.  He will oversee human resources strategy, talent management, employee benefits, compensation, staffing, human resources systems, operations and payroll, compliance, employee relations, human resources policies, as well as training and development.Mr. Carrig succeeds Mimi Breeden who retired from the Company last year.  He will report to SunTrust Banks, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer William H. Rogers, Jr. "Ken is a proven human resources leader with extensive experience leading this critical function for companies in regulated industries," said Mr. Rogers.  "He is committed to our client-centric approach to business, and I'm confident that his expertise will be valuable as we drive continuous improvement in our teammate engagement, client loyalty and growth metrics."
