On Wednesday June 8th at 1 p.m., representatives from Safeway Inc., the city of Oakland (Mayor's office, City Council, and Library), Reading Tree, Reading Partners and the Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) will meet at Brookfield Elementary School to kick off the Safeway/Reading Tree/Reading Partners Book collection/donation/mentoring program. This program is intended to serve at least 2000 students in 36 schools throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. The school is located in the Brookfield “Literacy Zone.” |
