CAE and InterGlobe to launch new pilot and maintenance technician training centre in India's National Capital Region, Delhi10:10 EDT Wednesday, June 22, 2011PARIS, FRANCE--(Marketwire - June 22, 2011) - CAE (NYSE:CAE)(TSX:CAE), on behalf of CAE Flight Training (India) Pvt Ltd., and InterGlobe Enterprises Limited of India today announced at the Paris Air Show that they are forming a joint venture training centre which will provide pilot and maintenance training solutions for the Indian aviation market. The centre will be located in the National Capital Region, Delhi, India and is expected to be ready for operation by the end of 2012. The new Delhi centre will be the fifth aviation training facility that CAE operates in India. CAE already trains more than 1,500 crewmembers every year at its training centre in Bengaluru, including pilots from several Indian airlines such as Air India, Go Air, IndiGo, Jet Airways, Kingfisher Airlines and SpiceJet. The CAE Bengaluru training centre is the first independent training centre in India and the first to earn approval as a fixed-wing Type Rating Training Organization (TRTO). CAE also operates with partner Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) a helicopter training centre in Bengaluru equipped with the first advanced, full-fidelity helicopter simulators in India. And in partnership with the Government of India, CAE operates ab initio flight schools in Gondia and Rae Bareli. Programs will also be offered for maintenance technicians. The training centre will initially house four new CAE-built Level D full-flight simulators covering Airbus and Boeing aircraft types being operated in India and complementing CAE capabilities at its Bengaluru training centre. The Delhi training centre will be capable of expansion to eight simulator bays.
