Kansas City Southern Announces the Appointment of Michael W. Cline as Vice President and Treasurer10:02 EDT Monday, August 08, 2011 KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Business Wire) -- Kansas City Southern (KCS) (NYSE: KSU) announced today the appointment of Michael W. Cline as vice president and treasurer, replacing senior vice president finance and treasurer Paul J. Weyandt, who retired this summer. Mr. Cline will report to executive vice president and chief financial officer Michael W. Upchurch. “Michael brings great breadth and depth of financial and treasury expertise,” said Mr. Upchurch. “His roles in publicly traded companies will bring fresh perspective and solid value to KCS' financial team.” Mr. Cline has worked in finance for 28 years. He joins KCS from Great Plains Energy, where he spent 10 years, most recently as vice president investor relations and treasurer. He has also held finance positions with several other Fortune 500 companies. He holds a master of business administration from Illinois State University and a bachelor of science in finance from Bradley University, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a Level 3 candidate for the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute. Mr. Cline is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and the National Investor Relations Institute. He also serves on the board of directors of Kansas City Young Audiences and is an active volunteer and on-air “pitcher” for KCUR-FM, Kansas City's local public radio.
