Molson Coors Recognized by CDP for Climate Change Disclosure and Performance08:00 EDT Wednesday, September 21, 2011 DENVER & MONTREAL (Business Wire) -- Molson Coors Brewing Company (NYSE: TAP, TSX) has been commended by the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for the action it is taking to reduce emissions and mitigate the risks of climate change, as well as for its transparency around climate change management. CDP represents 551 institutional investors with $71 trillion in assets under management. Molson Coors is featured in CDP's Carbon Performance Leadership Index (CPLI). The CPLI highlights those companies within the S&P 500 Index which have demonstrated a strong commitment to strategy, governance, stakeholder communications and emissions reduction in their CDP responses. The Company reduced its Green House Gas (GHG) emissions per unit of production by 14% between 2008 and 2012, exceeding its original target of 7%. In 2010, Molson Coors also decreased its total energy use by 3% compared to 2009. For the second year, Molson Coors is also featured in CDP's Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI). This index highlights the constituent companies which have displayed the most professional approach to corporate governance regarding climate change information disclosure practices. Companies are scored on their climate change disclosure and high scores indicate good internal data management and understanding of climate change related issues affecting the company. The indices, compiled by PwC on behalf of CDP, provide evaluation tools for institutional investors and other stakeholders. 11 companies from the S&P 500 Index are represented in the CPLI, based on analysis of the responses to CDP's 2011 questionnaire. The CDLI lists 55 companies this year, based on analysis of the responses to CDP's questionnaire which focused on greenhouse gas emissions, emissions reduction targets and risks and opportunities associated with climate change.
