Fifth Annual Bureau en Gros Fundraising Campaign to Benefit the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec - A Tremendous Success for Everyone Involved!10:19 EDT Monday, September 26, 2011BOUCHERVILLE, QC, Sept. 26, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - Thanks to customers' generosity and the enthusiastic efforts of everyone at Bureau en Gros, the store's latest fundraising campaign to benefit the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec was a tremendous success, collecting a grand total of $270,187.Lise Dion, campaign spokesperson, was one of the first to learn of the final tally. "I was really delighted," she said. "I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the public, who responded so generously to our appeal for support. Thank you—you have given the Club and its children a major boost."Francyne Charette, director-general of the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec, agreed wholeheartedly. "This year was the fifth time that Bureau en Gros held the campaign to benefit the Club," she explained. "I know that it's not always easy to retain the public's interest each year and come up with fresh ideas, but the people at Bureau en Gros really pulled out all the stops to promote the campaign, with some branches demonstrating considerable originality to liven up their fundraising activities. Thank you all! We're proud to have you as partners in our mission."The Key to Success: Unbridled EnthusiasmNaturally, Bureau en Gros employees seized every opportunity to encourage customers to give generously in support of the Club's campaign when paying for their purchases. But some branches went even further by organizing special fundraising activities aimed at providing additional motivation to make a donation."The special events organized at some of our branches worked very well, and there were local media in attendance, which helped provide greater coverage for the campaign as a whole," noted Rudel Caron, Regional Vice-President, Store Operations. "It's vital to raise awareness of the Club's mission, because the more money we raise, the more support we can give to children. That's what matters, and that's why we do this. I'm extremely proud of the commitment and involvement displayed by everyone at Bureau en Gros."The Club des petits déjeuners du Québec in BriefWhen he founded the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec in 1994, Daniel Germain wanted to provide a hot, nutritious, delicious breakfast to children who were at risk of going to school hungry. He also wanted them to have a chance to start each school day like their fellow students: with a full stomach and a mind open to learning. Last year, thanks to the generous donations it received and to its many partners, the Club's 3,500 volunteers welcomed 18,000 children and served some 2.5 million breakfasts at 297 schools across Quebec. All of these young students were able to start their day with a full stomach, an active mind and a smile on their face.About Staples® Canada Staples, Canada's largest office products company, is committed to providing Canadians with a wide choice of office services and products.
