SiriusXM Canada's New $100,000 Youth Instrument Fund Being Distributed Across the Country as Students Go Back to S'Cool08:00 EDT Tuesday, September 27, 2011Thousands of Canadian students from 38 schools across Canada to benefit from creative music program assistance TORONTO, Sept. 27, 2011 /CNW/ - SiriusXM Canada (TSX: XSR), the country's premier digital audio entertainment and content provider, together with S'Cool Life Fund, is pleased to announce distribution of the $100,000 SiriusXM Instrument Fund, committed last May, to 38 elementary schools across Canada for the 2011/2012 school year."Generous donations such as the SiriusXM Instrument Fund, and forward thinking partnerships between the private sector and non-profits, such as S'Cool Life Fund, help educators to keep music and the arts alive in Canadian classrooms," said Nancy Steinhauer, Principal of George Webster Elementary in East York, Ontario.  "Each year I've received additional funding from this initiative, and each year, my students learn, grow and develop in ways they wouldn't otherwise."By providing instruments, sheet music, instrument supplies, and uniforms the SiriusXM Instrument Fund was created to help support the efforts of elementary schools across the country to refresh existing music programs and develop exciting new programming for students. Schools may apply for one grant per school per calendar year; S'Cool Life Fund applicants who have already applied for a music grant for 2012 will automatically be considered for this new funding where possible.
