metro&moi celebrating its one-year mark - To date, over a million Quebecers have shared about $26 million in rewards10:00 EDT Thursday, September 29, 2011MONTREAL, Sept. 29, 2011 /CNW Telbec/ - metro&moi, Metro's exclusive rewards program, is celebrating its one-year mark. Launched across the province on September 30, 2010, metro&moi has already enabled over a million Quebecers to save a total of $26 million on their grocery bills."Our program has surpassed our initial objectives in terms of memberships, percentage of transactions made with the card and customers' average grocery bills," announced Marc Giroux, Vice-President, Marketing, at Metro. In fact, metro&moi celebrated its one millionth member only eight months after its launch, and, after one year, continues to receive new applications daily.metro&moi was developed in response to a 2009 survey of Metro customers aimed at determining their expectations regarding a rewards program. The overall message was clear: customers want a generous and straightforward rewards program that allows them to save money on their grocery bill.In short, metro&moi members accumulate one m point for each dollar spent on groceries and have access to bonus offers in-store and in the flyer, enabling them to accumulate points even faster. Every three months, the m points are automatically converted into rewards and sent by mail to program members, who also receive customized offers on their favourite products. For Metro, this is a way not only to thank its loyal customers, but also to redefine the relationship between grocery stores and customers, with an emphasis on recognition and simplicity. Metro will continue to innovate with its metro&moi program—the key to its corporate strategy, which consists in making the customer the focus of all its decisions. Some metro&moistatistics:more than one million membersover $26 million in rewards distributed to date93% of members say they are happy with the programMetro Inc.With annual sales of over $11 billion and over 65,000 employees, Metro Inc. is a leader in the food and pharmaceutical sectors in Québec and Ontario, where it operates a network of more than 600 food stores under several banners including Metro, Metro Plus, Super C and Food Basics, as well as over 250 drugstores under the Brunet, The Pharmacy and Drug Basics banners.Become one of our Facebook fans www.facebook.com/metro.ontarioVisit metro.caFor further information: Marie-Claude Bacon Senior Director, Corporate Affairs 514 643-1086 mbacon@metro.ca
