American Eagle Outfitters Announces Social Media Photo Contest Results

American Eagle Outfitters Announces Social Media Photo Contest Results10:48 EDT Tuesday, October 18, 2011 PITTSBURGH (Business Wire) -- American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. (NYSE: AEO) today announced the results of its “AE BestShot” social media photo campaign, which took place in July and August, www.ae.com/bestshot. Nearly 80,000 customers and employees uploaded photos wearing American Eagle Outfitters clothing, and more than 500,000 viewed photos and voted. Collectively, the time spent viewing photos totaled more than 40 years over a four week period. Seven customers and two employees won the grand prize of $3,000, and a spot in a future AE photo shoot. One customer was selected in two grand prize categories, winning a total of $6,000 as well as the campaign spot. Two hundred winners received $100 AE gift cards and their photos featured on the 25-story LED screen outside the American Eagle Outfitters flagship store in Times Square. “We are extremely pleased with the response to AE BestShot, and delighted with their creativity,” said Fred Grover, executive vice president, American Eagle Outfitters, Inc. “The contest showed how passionate our customers and employees are about the American Eagle Outfitters brand.” For each entry, submitters chose a category for their photo, and shared their entries via Facebook® and/or Twitter®, encouraging friends to vote for them.
