Stewart National Title Services Adds Cortellessa as Vice President, Commercial Underwriting Counsel in Washington, D.C.07:00 EST Monday, December 05, 2011 HOUSTON (Business Wire) -- Stewart National Title Services is pleased to announce that Gary Cortellessa has joined the company as vice president and commercial underwriting counsel. Cortellessa will be responsible for enhancing underwriting services and expanding Stewart's national and multinational commercial business. He will serve customers from the company's Dupont Circle office in Washington, D.C. (Photo: Business Wire) With a distinguished career spanning more than three decades, Cortellessa has worked extensively in the metropolitan areas of Washington D.C., New York and Chicago. Prior to joining Stewart, he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer for a regional underwriter and has held senior level positions in management, marketing and the legal area for major national underwriters. Cortellessa has experience in national underwriting of commercial transactions, real property and title insurance law, regulatory matters, claims administration and management. “The addition of Gary to our team further enhances our service capabilities for national commercial customers in the greater Washington, D.C. area, a priority market for Stewart,” remarked Jack Kieley, vice president, manager for the Baltimore office of Stewart National Title Services. “His expert transactional knowledge, impeccable attention to detail and dedication to customer service make Gary the perfect choice for this important role,“ added Kieley. A graduate of the University of Bridgeport, Cortellessa received a juris doctorate from New York Law School, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
