Tetra Tech Awarded USAID Legislative Strengthening Program20:00 EST Monday, December 05, 2011 PASADENA, Calif. (Business Wire) -- Tetra Tech, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTEK) announced today that it is one of five firms that has been awarded a contract valued at up to $225 million to help the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) develop democratic governance programs around the world. This indefinite quantity contract, called Strengthening Deliberative Bodies, covers a wide array of short-term and long-term technical assistance designed to strengthen legislative bodies and help make them more effective. Cooperating government agencies include the U.S. Department of State and the Millennium Challenge Corporation. The contract period of performance is five years. USAID has committed $150 million of this contract for work in critical priority countries, including Afghanistan, Sudan, Pakistan, and Iraq, and the remaining $75 million for other countries worldwide. Tetra Tech will provide advisory services, technical assistance, and training on the development of democratic legislative practices and procedures to national parliaments and legislatures; regional, municipal, and city deliberative bodies; and other types of elected or appointed government entities.
