Sprott Power Corp. Announces Completion of First Wind Turbine at its Amherst Wind Farm Project16:45 EST Monday, December 12, 2011TORONTO, Dec. 12, 2011 /CNW/ - Sprott Power Corp. ("Sprott Power") (TSX: SPZ), a developer, owner and operator of renewable energy projects, is pleased to announce a major milestone at its Amherst wind power project in conjunction with its partner, Firelight Infrastructure Partners L.P.  Yesterday the construction of the first of the fifteen wind turbines on the site was completed.  The balance of the wind turbines are in various stages of construction and the project is on schedule to be completed in the first quarter of 2012.  The Amherst project is a 31.5 Megawatt facility which will provide almost 100 gigawatt hours ("GWh") of renewable energy for Nova Scotia residents on an annual basis, generating enough electricity to power 10,000 homes."We are pleased with the recent construction progress at the Amherst site.  This will help us maintain our target in-service date of March 31, 2012," said Jeff Jenner, President and CEO of Sprott Power.  "To date the fourth quarter of 2011 has also provided Sprott Power with better than expected energy production from our operational assets in Nova Scotia and Ontario.  On an annualized basis these assets should match the 115 GWh's generated in the twelve months ended December 31, 2010."About Sprott Power Corp.Sprott Power is a publicly-traded (TSX:SPZ) Canadian-based company dedicated to the development, owning and operating of renewable energy projects.
