Contrans Group Inc. Acquires Mackinnon Transport's Van Division12:31 EST Monday, January 16, 2012(TSX:CSS)WOODSTOCK, ON, Jan. 16, 2012 /CNW/ - Contrans Group Inc. ("Contrans") announced today that it has acquired the Van Division of MacKinnon Transport Inc. Through MacKinnon's court-supervised restructuring, Contrans has taken control of MacKinnon's Dry Van business and immediately combined it with Laidlaw Carriers Van LP, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Contrans. The purchase allows Contrans to assume the contracts of approximately 80 drivers and owner-operators, and sub-lease the required equipment to continue servicing the MacKinnon Van division customers."This is a real boost for the growth of our Laidlaw Van division," stated Contrans' Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Stan Dunford.
