Exterior Lighting at its Las Vegas Strip Resorts to be Reduced March 31, 2012 8:30-9:30pm PDST
LAS VEGAS, March 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The resorts of MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) in Las Vegas will mark EARTH HOUR by turning off exterior lighting, rooftop signage, marquees, and front features from 8:30-9:30 pm Pacific Daylight Savings Time (PDST) on March 31, 2012.
"This event is designed to build awareness of the importance and impact of conservation and begins in New Zealand and progresses around the world, culminating in the Pacific Time Zone of the United States. Las Vegas is always recognized as one of the flagship cities for EARTH HOUR in the U.S.," said Cindy Ortega, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for MGM Resorts International.
Ortega said that environmental responsibility is a core company value for MGM Resorts that is woven into and throughout its culture and business operations.
