Konami Adopts the IGT Universal Game Adaptor to Drive Enhanced Player Communication16:00 EDT Monday, April 02, 2012LAS VEGAS, April 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- International Game Technology (NYSE: IGT) and Konami Gaming, Inc. a subsidiary of KONAMI CORPORATION (NYSE: KNM) today announced a joint agreement in which Konami will adopt IGT's Universal Game Adaptor (UGA) for an IGT systems solution to enable IGT's Service Window functionality on Konami slot machines. This technology allows IGT's system to manage Picture-in-Picture functionality on enabled Konami machines. It caters to the immediate needs of casino customers, as it is a great resource for operators who are not yet ready to move to a full, open standards-based games-to-systems (G2S) floor, or intend to mix legacy slot machines with newer, native G2S machines. These communication features allow operators to deliver floor-wide bonuses, loyalty programs and services to players directly in the primary game window instead of the traditional interactive LCD. Similarly, Konami Casino Management System (KCMS) will be able to manage the Picture-in-Picture capabilities on enabled IGT slot machines using the UGA."We are very excited to join with IGT in utilizing the UGA on Konami slot machines," said Steve Sutherland, COO/EVP of Konami Gaming, Inc. "This technology will deliver new ways for operators to communicate with their players. We are also pleased to join in the push to have a more collaborative relationship with our competitors that we hope will shape the industry moving forward."            Konami and IGT customers will be able to utilize the GSA standards, to interface and preserve the game's touch screen display integrity, promoting supportability. This solution preserves the game provider's ability to continuously innovate while ensuring that their game internals are not compromised."IGT and Konami are collaborating to further drive the industry forward and to strengthen floor-wide infrastructure and casino game functionality through an open G2S casino floor network," said Eric Tom, IGT EVP of North American Sales & Global Service. "This agreement is yet another example of our commitment to open network standards, as well as our dedication to interoperability and collaboration with other vendors and manufacturers."Please visit IGT.com/systems to find out more about the UGA and IGT's industry leading systems that provide casino operators with cutting-edge ways to optimize ROI's and enhance player experience.IGT Resources: Like us on Facebook Follow us on Twitter!
