The company has a great way for members of the public to celebrate Mother's Day: nominate mom as an Everyday Hero! Besides expressing all their love and appreciation in a unique way, they'll also be in for the chance to win great prizes.To celebrate your mom as an Everyday Hero (or Heroine, if you prefer), simply head to your Facebook and find full details on the application, available from Facebook.com/Cogeco (English/Ontario) or Facebook.com/CogecoQC (Québec).Introduced on April 30 by Cogeco in Québec and Ontario, the Everyday Hero campaign urges the company's social media followers to make exactly this sort of touching gesture, or encourage other good deeds in the community, and enter a simple and entertaining contest at the same time.The idea: participants nominate their Everyday Heroes via an application available on Facebook. Each Hero receives a notification, accepts the nomination, and in so doing becomes eligible to win a prize. Each Hero is also invited to "pay it forward," and nominate his or her own Hero. And so on… Prize structureOne prize per day per province, in the form of a gift card worth $100, will be awarded to Heroes and the people who nominated them, for a total prize amount of $24,000. Each week, Cogeco will select two "favourite" stories per province and reward the winners with a gift card worth $200, up to a total prize value of $6,400. Stories that get the most votes will be eligible to win the Grand Prize of $5,000* awarded at the end of the contest in each province, on June 22, 2012. The results are encouraging… Results since the launch of the Everyday Hero campaign are encouraging, and Cogeco's Facebook community continues to grow!
