Frontier Airlines Lands in Bloomington-Normal12:30 EDT Friday, May 18, 2012 DENVER (Business Wire) -- Frontier Airlines lands at Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI) in Bloomington-Normal, Ill. today, bringing with it low fares and nonstop service to/from both Denver International Airport (DEN) and Orlando International Airport (MCO). Denver service takes off today and operates four days each week. Orlando service, which will be offered three times weekly, begins May 25. The McLean County Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a Business After Hours event at the airport Friday to celebrate the new service and welcome the inaugural flight from Denver with 18 Bloomington-Normal business and community leaders onboard. A water cannon salute will greet the flight upon arrival, followed by a news conference. Additionally, Frontier is partnering with the Humane Society of Central Illinois to solicit donations. Everyone who donates an item on the society's wish list May 18-31 will receive a promo card valued at $20.
