Frontier Airlines Congratulates Airbus on U.S. Manufacturing Facility
Friday, July 06, 2012
DENVER (Business Wire) -- Frontier Airlines today issued sincere congratulations to its partner, Airbus, following the company's announcement that it would establish its first U.S.-based manufacturing facility in Alabama for the A320 family of aircraft.
“As a carrier operating a mainline Airbus-only fleet, we are pleased that Airbus is extending its global reach through this Alabama-based manufacturing facility,” said David Siegel, Frontier's President and CEO. “Airbus' decision to open a U.S.-based manufacturing facility will create more than 1,000 new jobs, in addition to the more than 1,000 people it already employs in other facilities across the country, while meeting the growing needs of its customers. As we near the 2016 delivery of the first of 80 A320 neo-family aircraft Frontier has on order, we continue to be proud to call Airbus a partner.”
Frontier currently operates a mainline fleet consisting of 59 Airbus aircraft. The Denver-based carrier took delivery of its first Airbus aircraft, an A319, in 2001 and transitioned to an all-Airbus fleet in 2005.
