Angry Birds and Intel Launch First-of-Its-Kind Mobile-Social Fan Experience14:27 EDT Thursday, August 02, 2012 CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (Business Wire) -- Rovio, the maker of Angry Birds; Intel Corporation®, a world leader in computing innovation; and Jumptap, the leader in targeted mobile advertising, have come together to launch the first ever fully-branded total Angry Birds experience on Facebook. The game launch represents the beginning of a year-long collaboration between the loveable characters and Intel-inspired Ultrabook™ devices. Play the Intel-branded Angry Birds for Facebook game: http://intel.ly/RdDwsq. Play on Intel's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Intel. Fans can find the game through the Intel and Angry Birds Facebook pages. An Intel-blue circuit board serves as background to the game as fans are transported into the Intel-branded Angry Birds world, including a new blue-and-yellow slingshot, Intel® Core™ chips and mini circuit boards. The game offers scoreboards that can be shared on Facebook and serve as a challenge to friends. To offer a mix of play and Intel content, the game gives fans an opportunity to learn more about Intel-inspired Ultrabook™ devices. “Our top priority is to surprise and delight our fans,” said Peter Vesterbacka, Mighty Eagle and CMO, Rovio. “The game is a great way to experience all the fun of Angry Birds in a brand new environment, inspired by Intel's spectacular new technology.” “Angry Birds has an exceptional following both in its mobile and social channels,” said David Veneski, Intel's U.S. Media Director. “In 2012, we're focused on building out the Ultrabook™ category and targeting an audience that is younger than we've marketed to in the past. With entertainment as the foundation of our advertising activities we feel that a multi-platform integration with Rovio and Angry Birds, including the first fully branded Facebook activation, is an excellent way to expose this new audience to Intel and the Ultrabook™ in a fun and engaging manner.” Utilizing its unique targeting technology and broad understanding of mobile audiences, Jumptap created the rich media ad units and landing pages, built and delivered 50 million mobile impressions to create awareness of the new game, and is now at work on future phases of the promotion. “We're thrilled to offer Angry Birds fans a way to interact with the Intel brand through a cross-platform experience,” said George Bell, CEO of Jumptap. “The partnership combines social and mobile in an innovative way, allowing fans to enjoy a game experience across multiple screens.” About Rovio Entertainment Rovio is an industry-changing entertainment media company headquartered in Finland, and the creator of the globally successful Angry Birds franchise.
