New Flyer supports Washington Metro Area Transit Authority with an additional order for ninety-five 40-foot replacement transit buses12:07 EDT Tuesday, August 07, 2012WINNIPEG, Aug. 7, 2012 /CNW/ - (TSX:NFI, TSX:NFI.UN, TSX:NFI.DB.U) New Flyer Industries Inc. ("New Flyer" or the "Company"), the leading manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses in Canada and the United States, announced today that the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority ("WMATA") has awarded New Flyer an order to build 95 heavy-duty 40-foot hybrid diesel-electric powered buses.The order for 95 Xcelsior XDE40 buses is a conversion of options under the existing contract with WMATA and follows upon the delivery to WMATA of 152 Xcelsior buses during 2011.  These reliable, modern and fuel efficient vehicles are supported by New Flyer warranty, service and lifetime customer care."We are proud to be a partner that WMATA can continually rely on," said Paul Soubry, New Flyer's President and Chief Executive Officer.
